A horde of demons from the Abyss. A dread master of the undead. A choice between saving a single city versus the entire world.
Raiders of the Dark Coast is the second book in the Rise of the Thrall Lord (ROTL) series. In the first book, City of Tears, the companions wrested the tower in the mists from the empress of the damned and her undead army. Having secured that tower, an even greater task now lays before them.
Demons still hold the tower in the mountains and are using it to summon more of their kind. As if that weren’t enough, four more towers exist as powerful as the first. If the demons take any of one of them, then nothing can stop them from destroying Arinthar and all life on it.
The problem is demons are not your normal monsters. Even the Princess of Lanfor with her powerful airship and army of dragons, fall before their might. Only one chance remains to defeat them; find or forge weapons of great power, demon slaying weapons like those of legend.
Rumors of the magic needed point to the dangerous Pirate Coast. At the same time, Penwick has come under attack by what might be one of the dread Thrall Masters. Can the companions protect Lloyd’s home city and still find the magic they so sorely need before demons overrun their world?
So that in a nutshell is the premise of Raiders. The companions face a huge threat in what could very well be the Master of the Undead. Yet they still need to do something about the growing army at the Demon Tower before it's too late. It fast becomes obvious this is too much for them to handle alone.
Luckily, they come across some powerful new allies as they search the Pirate Coast for weapons that can slay demons.
Unfortunately, they also make some powerful new enemies. The above artwork is the background Jackson is developing for the cover of Raiders. It depicts the destruction of the City of Kaniron along the Pirate Coast. The giant creature rising from the volcano is Zharpita, the bird god of Kaniron. The companions have angered Zharpita's worshipers and now must face its wrath.
Do they actually have what it takes to fend off a god?
I can promise you this second installment in ROTL will be epic. In the coming months I will be posting excerpts as I write them. If all goes well, the entire book will be ready for publishing in the fall of this year.

Thanks for asking. Unfortunately, I am independently published and the print editions currently available are the only planned editions at this time.
Will thes works see publication as trade or mass pub paperbacks??
